This is a broad course exploring practical, critical and contextual work through a range of 2D and/or 3D processes and new media and technologies.
It is a course where candidates can work in appropriate art, craft and design materials and processes. Candidates should produce practical and contextual work associated with two or more of the areas below;
Candidates will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples which will be integral to the investigating and making process.
Undertaking GCSE Art and Design can led to a career as a cartoonist, costume designer, display designer/visual merchandiser, fashion/clothing designer, graphic designer, hairdresser, illustrator,interior designer, musical instrument maker/repairer, product designer, sculptor ,stage/set designer, teacher, technical illustrator, textile designer, toymaker, wallpaper designer and extends to many more opportunities.
You should choose this GCSE if you have an interest in drawing and making things. The course will allow you to develop your skills in a creative and innovative manner.
