Year 8 Global Green Cities
Year 8 pupils have been part of the W5 Global Green Cities project through Geography. This included year 8 pupils going to W5 on a trip and having a visit in school were they made cars that were powered by wind energy. Following this, pupils had to research six global green cities, produce posters about them and present the information to all year 8 pupils.
On Friday 28th November 2014 all of our year 8 students presented posters on the six candidates for the Global Green City Award. They worked in groups and completed their posters during Geography lessons. The six cities the year 8 students researched were Belfast, Rio de Janeiro, Accra, San Francisco, Copenhagen and Singapore.
The year 8 students voted for Rio de Janeiro as their Global Green City.
